Thank you for accommodating a scheduling conflict we had when making the original reservation. Our Captain , Luke, was great!ย He brought us to several locations which were beautiful. Weโll be back!
We had a wonderful time on the boat a smooth ride through the bay and saw some wondeful shells and sea life on our trip.
The charter operator canceled on trip date. This is an automated posting.
When I booked this boating tour, it asked me what we wanted to do. I said we wanted to snorkel, fish, and go paddle boarding. We didnโt do ANY of those! The day before we were supposed to go on the boat, I got a message saying that the boat was broken and asked if we could change the date. I told them we couldnโt, they did get back to me right away and said that now the boat was fixed. Our time was 9 AM but they changed it last minute to 4 PM without telling us. We showed up at 9 AM and nobody was there and so I messaged the secretary of the company, the only number that I had, which was the number that contacted me the day before about the broken boat. She contacted the captain and he showed up on his bike shortly after. He said that if we wanted to wait an hour or two, he could run and get bait for us to fish and go get the boat. Unfortunately, we took an Uber there and did not have a car so we decided to reschedule for the next day. Next day the captain showed up on time, however no fishing gear! The captain said that the boating company was supposed to contact me and he was not allowed to take us fishing. He played stupid and no further explanation was provided. I asked him about the paddle boarding and he said that it was never an optionโฆ even though it was clearly listed as an option. He said that there was no room on the boat for paddle boards and he had no idea why I thought we could paddleboard. We decided to look for dolphins first and said we would snorkel after since it was early morning and a bit chilly. After a few hours, and nearing the end of our boat excursion, I mentioned the snorkeling. The captain tried saying that we didnโt want to snorkel and all we wanted to do was dolphin watch. Not true, we wanted to do both! Why would we want to ride around for three hours just looking for dolphins? A very expensive boat ride to only look for dolphins and pick up some seashells! Also, the fact that I was given the option to paddleboard, and the captain thought that was comical didnโt make me happy either! Thereโs too many parties involved. Youโve got the booking company, someone who runs the boating operation, a secretary communicating between the boat operator and the captain and then the captain. Obviously nobody communicates with one another. I did complain and was refunded $150 of the $500 price of the tour, however, looking back, I shouldโve been refunded more considering we did not get anything that we requested! The captain was a nice guy, but clearly did not listen to us. He was too busy on his phone wishing everyone a merry Christmas and cracking dad jokes the whole trip!

After reading this review I feel compelled as the Owner to respond. First when a boat breaks down we do the best we can to get you back onto the water. We have an option for fishing. That option wasnโt available for the day of your trip. We donโt start trips at 4pm in winter cause that would leave you a hour of daylight. So that was a false statement. My captain explained to me that half of your group wanted to swim the other half wanted to look for dolphins. He did the best he could to keep your undecided group happy. With water temps in the low 60s nobody was going to be swimming. Unless youโd like hypothermiaโฆ collecting shells and hanging out on the sandbar is part of the excursion. Looking for dolphins is part of the excursion. While at the sandbar you can swim all you want, you chose not to. Also itโs Christmas. If my captain wants to wish you a merry Christmas than so be it. He doesnโt know youโre Jewish. Rather unfair to be so judgmental about somebody wishing a merry Christmas trying to make everybody be in the Christmas spirit. I also love the fact that youโre complaining about receiving a refund. As a business owner I have every right to not give you any type of refund yet we did and apologized multiple times for the boat break down. As a company with a fleet of boats there are a lot of moving parts and we do the best we can to make sure you get out in the water. Most companies would have canceled you completely and said better luck next time. But we went above and beyond to make sure you got to spend time on the water.ย So thank you for the 1 star review hopefully other can see what type of customers we get to deal with from time to time.
