What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Islamorada, Florida for the first time?

We purposefully avoided the party areas, and were taken to a quiet spot where we could just swim and snorkel. If you know what you want to do, and ask the captain for recommendations, they do a great job finding the perfect spot.

The Captain is highly focused on safety and communication. Listen to his briefing details on safety, boat features, and most of all where you want to go and what you want to see. And don't forget sunscreen!! Have an awesome time.

Make sure you are using reef safe sunscreen, stay hydrated, water is very clear but there will likely be seaweed/sargassum floating on top of the water, which doesn’t stink in the water, just swim around it.

Islamorada Private Charters Captain Donald Tait Not a catamaran was double booked didn’t have are reservation but was charged and confirmed had to show screen shot and than told wait hour had 40 foot boat which was ridiculous pontoon boat for 50 people not 3 Didn’t offer to discount try to accommodate but honestly for what we paid was so disappointing and would never recommend this captain and his team. He should have been so apologetic. I went through website had no idea it was different than his direct site was charged and had confirmation which was confirmed. Nice to be on the water and it’s such a beautiful place. 450.00 for the wrong boat and waited all day wasn’t worth it.

It's hot, but not as crowded as other times of year. The water and place is basically beautiful though.

Take the boat trip! My husband expected more beaches down in the keys but that’s not really the case! Taking the boat out was so much more fun and worth the investment and time!

Early April may be windy, which can impact tours, you may want to wait until you get here to book, because the forecast is rarely accurate more than a day in advance. Sightseeing/sand bar trips are likely less impacted than snorkeling/fishing trips.

Book with Captain Matt!!!! He is experienced and knows the best places to go as well as the rules and regulations. Great time for our family, ages 10, 11, 14, 17, 43 and 47!!

Yes, charter had it all—just show up and enjoy the beauty of the Keys. Captain Matt did a great job.

Definitely go to the sandbar, and on the way home stop by Robbies and feed the Tarpon and have a delicious Margarita!

It was windy. Not sure if that is always the case for June. Water was extremely clear and beautiful

For us, from up north, water temp was perfect :) Charlie very knowledgeable and we had a great time!!

We were hoping to snorkel but water temp was too cold for us! But not bad just boating around on the water with sweatshirt on during Christmas time!

Being from Wisconsin, cooler temps don't bother us as much as others. The strength of the wind plays the biggest role in how warm it feels. We had a pretty windy day with highs in the low 70s but we still very much enjoyed the charter.

My friend and I took the 2 hour boat tour for her birthday. Our boat captain Donald was such a pleasure to deal with. He was very professional, fun and took us to all the cool spots. We had an amazing time amongst the dolphins ? and he also showed us the best places to watch the sunset. I highly recommended this boat tour.

Known for their water but not the beaches you would think. Be prepared for the iguanas on dry land

Bring everything you need including food, anti-nausea medicine, and plenty if water.

Little windier than I expected, bring layers. Water might be cold at first but you adjust quickly.

This time of year was windy so visibility for snorkeling was very bad. But the temperatures were really nice.

This company was awesome and easy to work with! Atlantis our captain was knowledgable and made a great day for us!
