What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Marathon, Florida for the first time?

The sargassum along the shoreline was so thick when we were there in June. Getting out on a boat to snorkel is a must, especially during sargassum season. We had no clue but glad we booked with Living Like Larry!

Sunscreen! Snorkeling, fishing, and swimming are wonderful activities- the water is warm and clear with lots of marine life to see. We had a great time on an AM boat tour on the Salt Dancer with Captain Scott!

Ask your captain what variety of opions exist (sandbar, snorkeling, sightseeing, etc) then share what sounds best to you - they are very accomodating!

yes! it was hot but so lovely and breezy on the water! there is wonderful shade on this boat if anyone needs shade :)

We loved snorkeling in area and shoreline views. We also were able to see the nesting birds on various islands which is only available this time of year.

The water was slightly choppy, and too rough to snorkel in. We were lucky enough to get out on a day when it wasn't too windy.

The experience would have been better if the weather was better. It was chilly and windy. Luckily the sun did come out for a bit. We should have picked a different day.

The weather was beautiful but a little chilly on the way back in. Maybe bring another dry towel, or a coverup.

Keep in mind certain times of the year are more rainy than others and the wind also impacts if you can snorkel at the reef

We're from the midwest and the UV and sun is hotter down here! Be sure to bring extra sunscreen, reapply often, and consider wearing a hat and swimshirt.

If it’s windy and you’re at all prone to motion sickness, definitely prepare with Dramamine, especially if you’re going out over the Reef!

Understand that weather and wind is unpredictable so be prepared and flexible. Make sure you have a lot of sunblock too!

Bring a sweat shirt/pants as it gets cooler at night but yes boating in December was great! Clear skies and beautiful sunset.

The water is beautiful. Bring sunblock. The amount of fish snorkeling was amazing.
