Set sail aboard Sail Away Algarve, a beautifully restored 1997 Endurance 43 classic sailing yacht (refitted in 2026), departing from Portimão. Built for comfort, stability, and true offshore capability, this 43ft bluewater cruiser accommodates up to 14 guests, making it perfect for families, groups, celebrations, or private escapes along the Algarve coast.

Powered by a reliable 80 HP Ford diesel inboard engine, she cruises smoothly at up to 5 knots, ideal for relaxed sailing, sightseeing, and soaking in the coastline rather than rushing past it. Onboard, you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable day at sea, including a refrigerator, ice box, and WiFi.

Very nice experience

3 Hour – Algarve Discovery on July 31, 2026 • 3 adults • 2 children

We had an amazing sailing trip with Sail Away Algarve today! Our skipper, Miguel, was fantastic – very friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped on board.

We sailed from Portimão to the beautiful João de Arens bay, where we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear water. On the way back, we raised the sails and enjoyed a peaceful and unforgettable sailing experience all the way back to Portimão.

The boat was beautiful, the scenery was breathtaking, and the whole trip was relaxing from start to finish. If you’re looking for an authentic sailing experience in the Algarve, I can highly recommend Sail Away Algarve. It was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday!

confusion regarding the pricing

2 Hour – Essence of the Sea on August 6, 2026 • 6 adults

We had some confusion regarding the pricing, as the information in the fine print did not match what was displayed on the website, and the final price was almost double what was advertised. We recommend being very careful and confirming the total cost before booking. They did waive the fuel fee, since the website indicated it was included, and they also offered us a welcome cocktail. However, cancelling the tour was not really an option without losing money.

That being said, the tour itself was wonderful. The scenery was beautiful, the boat was very well maintained and equipped with paddleboards, and they made the most of the two-hour tour. Aside from the pricing issue, we would recommend this experience—just make sure you are clear on the actual price you will be paying!

Thank you for your review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the sailing experience, the boat, the scenery and the paddleboards.

However, we would like to clarify the pricing issue for future guests reading this review.

As we showed you with screenshots from the website, the price of the tour was correctly displayed and it was clearly stated that the crew fee and fuel were to be paid separately. In addition, before you completed your booking, we sent you a message specifically informing you that the crew fee would be paid on board. We did not receive a reply to this message, and the booking was subsequently completed.

There was indeed one inconsistency regarding the fuel: although the description clearly stated that fuel was not included, due to an error on the booking platform, a tick appeared on the reservation indicating that fuel was included. We fully acknowledged this discrepancy and, even though it was a platform error, we took responsibility for it and did not charge you any fuel cost.

We also wanted to make sure you had the best possible experience despite this misunderstanding, so in addition to offering you a welcome drink, we offered you almost one extra hour on board at no additional cost.

We always aim to be completely transparent with our guests, and this is why we communicate any additional costs both in the listing and directly with the customer before the booking is completed.

We are nevertheless very pleased that you found the tour itself wonderful and that you would recommend the experience. Thank you for sailing with us.
