We booked a six‑hour educational sailing trip with Opasailing, originally planned for a Friday. Because the weather conditions weren’t ideal, the organisation proactively suggested moving our session to a later day — and we’re so glad they did. The wind and sea conditions turned out perfect for beginners like us, giving us the chance to really feel how a boat responds to waves, wind, and steering inputs.
Despite having very little sailing experience, Jasmin immediately made us feel comfortable. His calm, relaxed teaching style gave us confidence from the start. We were trusted with the helm, allowed plenty of time to explore how to control both speed and direction, and always felt safe knowing Jasmin was right beside us to gently correct any suboptimal choices we made along the way.
After about two hours, we anchored near a deserted beach — an absolute gem. We had time to snorkel in crystal‑clear water and saw an impressive variety of fish species. It was a beautiful bonus to an already great day.
This trip genuinely sparked something in us. Sailing turned out to be far more fun, engaging, and accessible than we imagined. We’re now seriously considering getting our sailing licence back home.
