A Perfect Sunset Cruise with Captain Josh

I normally don’t leave reviews unless an experience is either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, and thankfully this one falls into the first category. Our sunset cruise with Day on the Bay Charters was absolutely wonderful. Captain Josh Wentling was professional, friendly, and communicative from the very beginning. Before the cruise, he kept me informed and answered any questions I had, which made the entire process stress-free. The boat was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. What really stood out was that Captain Josh took the time to ask what we wanted to see rather than simply following a standard route. We mentioned that we wanted to view Assateague Island from the water, and he happily accommodated our request without hesitation. Throughout the cruise, he was personable, knowledgeable, and great to talk with, making the experience feel both relaxing and memorable. We also had our elderly grandmother with us, who uses a walker, and Captain Josh went above and beyond to ensure she boarded and exited the boat safely and comfortably. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Ocean City. I highly recommend Day on the Bay Charters and Captain Josh to anyone looking for a private, personalized, and enjoyable cruise experience. We will definitely book again the next time we’re in Ocean City!

    We had a great time on the bay despite some rain. Captain was knowledgeable and very friendly. Would highly recommend him!

    Worst Birthday Present Ever!!!

    I had planned for this boat ride six weeks in advance as a gift for my Husband turning 65 and his elderly sisters visiting from Costa Rica. I had paid for the trip in full. When we arrived at the boat, unfortunately the tide was out and to board the boat you had to jump, almost 4 feet to get into the boat and jump out of it. I also walk with a cane. The captain of the boat did not have a ramp, nor did he have stairs. There was no way for us to enter or exit the boat safely. At my insisting my husband went on the boat with his one of the sisters. She nearly falls, trying to get back out of the boat. what a mess!! The captain (Josua) did not talk to them at all the entire journey. My husband messaged me told me it was one of the worst experiences that he ever had. we pay alot of money for nothing. I asked the captain could we get a refund or a discount? He said no! hes got to make a livng. well your customers work hard to enjoy a boat ride and donate to you! I don’t understand why this so called captain didn’t have something on the boat to accommodate the passengers who may be elderly or need assistance getting in and off of the boat or why couldn’t he didn’t offer to go to another pier that had a ladder hanging that we could at least gone down on a ladder, even if he had suggested we drive three blocks over to catch the boat at one of the other peers I would have gladly have done that. my husband indicated that the captain did not speak to them at all. He didn’t tell them where they were going or speak anything about in the area that he was taking them. All he did was drive the boat around to the local marinas, they did not go out into the ocean. They stayed over on the Bayside. I can tell you we will never ever use this service again. What a huge disappointment when it was suspossed to have been nice birthday present for my husband and his sister’s visiting from Costa Rica.

    Thank you for your review. I will take into consideration and add to my wedsite that the boat is not handicap accessible. As I explained the tide had blown out due to the wind and moon phase. I have no control over that. That phenomenon occures so little that I do not have a ramp or stairs for boarding. I apologize for not going in the ocean. The boat is a pontoon boat and not capable of going in the ocean and only does bay side tours as our name states "Day On The Bay". I apologize for not conversing with your husband and sister inlaw. However they spoke only in Spanish, Im not fluent in Spanish. I am unable to offer a reduced rate or discount as my time and expenses are the same weather its one or six passengers. Thank you for your review, I will adjust my website to advise that we are not handicap accessible.
