THIS IS A LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH THE READ…I was going on a cruise in April with 8 friends. We wanted to book a private boat charter for a fun day on the water. I booked the boat with Sea Wings Charters 2 months in advance and paid a deposit. In the 2 months leading up the trip, the captain (Winston Beneby) and I messaged multiple times to discuss snorkel gear, meeting location, etc. Everything seemed to be great….until it wasn’t. The night before our scheduled charter, Winston messaged me saying that he would need to charge me an additional $240, claiming that the price I booked was only for 6 guests…not 9. I instantly provided him my receipt showing 9 guests, as well as the messages between him and I stating that I had 9 guests. This was clearly an attempted cash grab. Winston waited until after the free cancellation period expired and left me without a boat less than 12 hours before our scheduled departure. Our group was forced to find a last minute group charter on the island, which turned out to be OK. Luckily, BoatBooker refunded my deposit and saw that Winston was in the wrong. If this review can keep just 1 person from booking with Sea Wings Charters, I’ll have done my part. Please do your research and book elsewhere.
