- Hi, my name is Dominico Vandyke Boyd, a 51-year-old Bahamian and a 24-year veteran police officer, currently holding the rank of Inspector. Throughout my service, I have been honored with the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Police Medal. Since 2002, I have been stationed across the Northern Bahamas, including Abaco, Grand Bahama, and currently Nassau, New Providence. My long service in these regions has strengthened my deep passion for the surrounding Bahamian waters and maritime environment. To further pursue this passion, I obtained my B Class and A Class Master Captain’s License (300 tons) along with all required maritime certifications. During my policing career, I received specialized training from the United States Coast Guard, earning six pins in marine operations, hull, outboards, and operational courses. I also trained with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and served in the Marine Support Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, and I am a certified Open Water Diver (Level II). Before and alongside my law enforcement career, I developed a strong foundation in tourism and hospitality. I studied at the Bahamas Hotel Training College (now part of the University of The Bahamas), where I earned an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management (Honors), along with a Certificate in General Catering Skills and the Bahama Host certification from the Ministry of Tourism. I have also been appointed as a Justice of the Peace, further reflecting my commitment to service and integrity. My current vessel is a 2025 refurbished 2006 22ft Angler 204 Series, a 12-passenger fiberglass hull boat, powered by a reliable and fuel-efficient Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engine.
