With a four-year degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and experience working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Eric transitioned to Maryland to pursue a career in environmental restoration. He founded and operated his own environmental restoration company, specializing in stream restoration, wetland construction, and shoreline stabilization. Over three decades in the environmental field, Eric gained an in-depth understanding of the Chesapeake Bay’s unique ecosystem, including its watersheds, tides, and hydrology. Eric holds multiple professional certifications, including Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, Maryland Tree Expert, and ISA Certified Arborist. His dedication to environmental stewardship inspired him to launch Stella Charters LLC in January 2023. With his USCG Captain License for uninspected vessels (six passengers or less, up to 100gt/100 miles offshore), he combines his passion for the water and wildlife to create memorable experiences for guests. Captain Eric now leads eco-tours, bird-watching expeditions, sunset and sunrise cruises, and more, offering guests the opportunity to explore the beauty and biodiversity of the Chesapeake Bay.
