We booked captain Eric for our annual girls trip weekend. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We explored the bay and had a great dinner, at the Captain’s recommend restaurant. Capstan Eric asked if we would be interested in fishing. We are all woman who have never fished before, so we didn’t know what to expect! Eric took us to a well known spot and helped us reel in large rock fish (one over 28 inches)! It was so much fun. Eric made us feel safe, comfortable, and made sure we experienced the bay in its fullest! His boat was so comfortable, the cleanest bathroom, and well equipped with everything you needed. He was professional, knowledgeable and very competent! I would highly recommend this charter for a day on the bay for fishing or just cruising and sightseeing!!

His journey began as a mate on a charter boat on Lake Ontario, where he gained valuable nautical knowledge and a love for being on the water. With a four-year degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and experience working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Eric transitioned to Maryland to pursue a career in environmental restoration. He founded and operated his own environmental restoration company, specializing in stream restoration, wetland construction, and shoreline stabilization. Over three decades in the environmental field, Eric gained an in-depth understanding of the Chesapeake Bay's unique ecosystem, including its watersheds, tides, and hydrology. Eric holds multiple professional certifications, including Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional, Maryland Tree Expert, and ISA Certified Arborist. His dedication to environmental stewardship inspired him to launch Stella Charters LLC in January 2023. With his USCG Captain License for uninspected vessels (six passengers or less, up to 100gt/100 miles offshore), he combines his passion for the water and wildlife to create memorable experiences for guests. Captain Eric now leads eco-tours, bird-watching expeditions, sunset and sunrise cruises, and more, offering guests the opportunity to explore the beauty and biodiversity of the Chesapeake Bay.
