Scenic Ride, But Lacking Service and Hospitality
We booked this boat excursion to Capri expecting a relaxing, welcoming experience, but unfortunately it felt more like an expensive water taxi than a premium boat tour. From the very beginning, things got off to a poor start. When we arrived at Molo Luise, security would not allow us to enter because the captain had not yet arrived, leaving us waiting without clear communication. Our captain, Domenico, came across as very rigid and unwelcoming throughout the day. We never felt like guests. For example, we were not allowed to use the boat's restroom, and whenever we asked for recommendations on how to best spend our time in Capri, the responses were simply, "You do whatever you want," rather than offering helpful local suggestions or guidance. On board, we felt overly restricted. We were frequently told where to sit and not to move around the boat, which made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable instead of relaxed. While we understand safety is important, the constant instructions made the experience feel unnecessarily controlling. The listing also mentioned light food being included, but none was ever offered. At the end of the trip, I tried to grab a bottle of water from the cooler, and instead of simply handing it to me, the captain appeared visibly annoyed and instructed me to ask for assistance. Another disappointment was the swimming masks equipment. We were a group of seven, yet there was only one flotation device and two masks available. In addition, we were repeatedly reminded to be extremely careful with the masks, which made us feel more worried about using the equipment than enjoying it. Overall, the boat itself and Capri are beautiful, but the hospitality was lacking. A great captain can make an excursion memorable, and unfortunately that wasn't our experience. We left feeling like we had paid a premium price for transportation rather than for the enjoyable, welcoming boat experience that was advertised.

Dear Cindy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Regarding boarding at Molo Luise, access to the marina is managed by port security, and guests can only enter once the captain arrives. We understand the wait may have been frustrating and will work on communicating this more clearly. Safety is our top priority, and while captains may ask guests to remain seated or limit movement while the boat is underway, these instructions should always be delivered in a friendly and welcoming manner. We also apologize if the guidance regarding the restroom was unclear. For safety and hygiene reasons, it cannot be used while guests are wet after swimming. We are sorry to hear that you felt the hospitality, refreshments, and onboard equipment did not meet your expectations. Your comments have been noted and will be reviewed with our team, as we are always looking to improve the experience we provide. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Sail La Dolce Vita
