Not Great
The captain arrived in dirty clothes, not professional. The purpose of the boat ride is that my 4 year old grandson wanted a “fast boat ride” and I stated that when booking. The captain said it would “cost too much in gas to go fast”. The Boat’s condition was just ok, definately showed wear. I would not book this again. Our goal was not met and overall, it was a disappointing experience and a complete waste of money.
We are very sorry this particular guests goals were not met on this 2 hour excursion. However, we find that the particular request by a 4year old handicapped passsenger for a “fast boat ride” was not within reasonable means given the nature of our services. Our boat is a cruising yacht, it is not a “speed boat” and is certainly not meant to take a boat full of passengers including guests aged 4, 2 and 1 year old at any unsafe speeds around San Diego bay which is very busy and crowded with watercraft on a Sunday morning/afternoon. Our captain jokingly made the “costs too much in gas” comment out of concern for the safety of the children onboard which included a 4 year old handicapped child which was obviously not a concern for the person booking this cruise to consider such a request. Our first and primary goal is to provide a safe experience for our passengers and also to comply with local city and state guidelines set forth by the port authority and the US coast guard for safe and reasonable passage for our guests. It is the captains responsibility and duty to drive the vessel as he sees fit to comply with maritime rules and safety guidelines to ensure the welfare of our guests, especially in the presence of minors including infants and physically impaired guests. Our goal was met with the safety and welfare of our guests as top priority. We stand by our captains decision to operate the vessel safely with respect for our passengers and their guests.
