We had a wonderful afternoon on the water watching for turtles and dolfins, hanging at the sandbar, and some fishing.
We had such a great trip out to Snipes Key with Capt. Jake! He was fantastic with my daughters from start to finish. Along the way, he slowed down to point out turtles and different kinds of fish, and once we got to Snipes he showed them starfish and horseshoe crabs and took the time to teach them about these creatures and their habitat. Jake remarked on my daughter's "Swiftie" shirt at the dock and I noticed quite a few Taylor Swift songs made their way onto the playlist for the ride out and back. I suspect this was not a coincidence! It was a small, thoughtful detail that made the day extra fun. The boat was spotless and comfortable. I felt completely safe the entire time. Jake was very attentive to the practical side of having kids out on the water. We had sunscreen reapplication and nap schedules to work around, and he kept a close eye on the time without making us feel rushed. I also noticed that while the kids were swimming and playing, he was keeping close track of where everyone was in the water, which I really appreciated as a parent. The best part of this experience has been my kids' new interest in all things related to marine science. They still talk about everything they saw and ask when we can go again. Highly recommend this trip - and definitely request Capt. Jake if he's available!
We had an amazing trip to Snipes Key with Captain Jake! The ride was fast and smooth. Captain Jake curated a playlist the kids enjoyed. He stopped to point out wildlife and timed the trip perfectly to take full advantage of the low tide sand bar. The island waters were calm, clear and shallow, perfect for beginner swimmers. Even better NO SEAWEED! What a rare find when the main island beaches were covered in it. Captain Jake gave us a tour of the island, showing us the secret swing, which the kids got a kick out of. This trip was a highlight of our vacation and a must do with Captain Jake!
I took a sandbar trip with my extended family and everyone had a blast! The ride out took less than half an hour and was very smooth. Once we got to the sandbar we enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water, exploring the island, and having a picnic on the beach before heading back. Captain Jake was very knowledgeable about the Keys and gave us some great restaurant recommendations and fun activities to do during the remainder of our vacation. Overall the experience was top notch!
We went on the sandbar and sunset trip and it was worth every penny! The boat was clean and comfortable. The captain really knew the waters and all the different fish and sea life. He did a great job at answering all of our questions. The sandbar itself was so peaceful, and with the sunset it felt like heaven on Earth. Will definitely book again next time we visit!
Captain Jake was extremely knowledgeable of the channels as well as making sure we stayed safe. He’s honestly the best I’ve been on in the 15 years I’ve been going to Key West! I’m very appreciative of his kind and friendly demeanor while remaining professional. Would highly recommend him to everyone!! :)
