Our family of six enjoyed the 8-hour excursion with Miguel, Juan and Freddy. They worked hard keeping the lines in the water and chasing the next catch. Although the bites were few, they worked hard to get us on the fish even though it was off-season. We snorkeled Columbia Reef and saw sharks, turtles,dolphins, ann eagle ray and so many different kinds of fish. We visited El Ceilo for the starfish and sting rays that swam all around us. The crew was friendly, helpful, informative and put together a delicious lunch and beverage selection. This was definitely a 10/10.

what a wonderful experience. The crew was so amazing, accommodated all of our requests and had great suggestions of what we could do. Food was delicious. From the time I booked until we got on the boat Pedro was so communicative. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting an amazing private tour for your family. We had an amazing day on the Why Not! We started the day by fishing! The first mate was incredibly helpful. We caught 5 barracuda! It was so much fun! The captain used one of the fish to make ceviche for our lunch! We then visited a very private beach that was lovely and quiet! It was the perfect day with an awesome crew! Worth every penny! Communication in planning was perfect! Just do it!!!!

I will start with why only 3 stars and explain why we loved the trip next. The boat that we were supposed to go on (Why Not) was not the boat we actually got. In a last min message we were told that our boat had engine issues and would be unavailable the boat we got was “Grand Slam”. This boat served the needs of getting us to our location, very, very slowly but we did eventually get there. We also had to go to a different marina then what was the original plan, quite a bit further. The crew was excellent, they were nice, explained what the plan was, talked to us about adjustments, and we very much loved the experience. We do not know if this happens often with trying to switch the boat. But please understand we had a blast, a wonderful time, and would do it again. We just were not sure how to rate this as we paid a lot of money for one boat, to get a lesser boat, with no reduction in price.

Mechanical situations like this are fortunately very uncommon, but safety and reliability always come first for us. As we explained before the trip, we operate several boats in our fleet, all with very similar size, layout, pricing, and trip configurations. The Grand Slam is actually one of our most requested boats and runs hundreds of successful charters every year with excellent feedback from guests. Our intention in offering the Grand Slam was never to substitute you into a “lesser” experience, but rather to make sure you were still able to enjoy your day in Cozumel instead of having to cancel your plans during your cruise visit. We also want to mention that before making the change, we asked for your approval, and of course, if you had preferred not to proceed with the replacement boat, we would have absolutely understood and worked on a refund solution. Most importantly, we’re very happy to hear that despite the unexpected situation, you had a wonderful time onboard and enjoyed the service from our local crew. Our captains and mates work extremely hard every day to create memorable experiences for our guests, and your comments about them truly mean a lot.
