Great views and captain was awesome

I booked the trip with my wife and two of my young children. There were only two other passengers on the boat an elderly lady and her daughter. The driver was extremely rude and clearly racist. It was obvious that he did not like Arabs. He never spoke to us, did not explain anything about the islands or places we passed by, and only talked in French with the old lady and her daughter while completely ignoring us. We didn’t even stop at any island. When I asked him how long we would stay or how much time we had, he replied rudely, “If you don’t want to get off, just stay here.” He was very impolite, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Our trip was very disappointing. I booked this trip based on the good reviews from other people and paid a considerable amount of money. We came back around 3:00 — he seemed to be rushing to finish the trip quickly. Overall, it was a terrible experience for us as a family, and I truly hope the management looks into this serious behavior.

Dear Fahad, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations, as this is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide. We would like to clarify a few points. The skipper assigned to your tour is relatively new and is still gaining confidence communicating in English. While this may have unfortunately limited his explanations during the trip, it was never our intention for any guest to feel ignored or unwelcome. We are especially concerned by your comment regarding discrimination. Tino Boats welcomes guests from all over the world every day, including many visitors from Arab countries, and we are committed to treating every guest with the same respect and hospitality. We take allegations of this nature very seriously and, based on our review of the day and our experience with our team, we do not believe there was any intentional discriminatory behavior. However, we sincerely regret that this was your perception of the experience. Regarding the itinerary, our Five Islands tour normally includes opportunities to go ashore at Île aux Cerfs and Île aux Phares, which are the only two islands on the route that are accessible to visitors. Île de la Passe and Îlot Vacoas are located on the reef and can only be viewed from the boat due to sea conditions and the lack of safe landing access. We also stop at Île aux Aigrettes for refreshments, but visitors are not permitted to disembark as it is a protected endemic nature reserve. The skipper was also trying to explain that guests who preferred not to go ashore at the accessible islands were welcome to remain comfortably on board while others visited. We understand that this may have been misunderstood because of the language barrier. Finally, our excursion operates from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., which is the standard duration of the tour, so your return time was in line with our normal schedule. We appreciate your feedback, as it highlights the importance of ensuring our crew can communicate more clearly with all guests. We will use your comments to further improve our service. Kind regards, The Tino Boats Team
