Captain Steve holds a 100 ton merchant mariner credential with a sailing endorsement from the United States Coast Guard. He is also certified in First Aid as well as safety at sea (STCW) credentials. Steve has been sailing since he was a kid. Most of his professional career he was a high school history teacher and sailing coach and spent summer as the director of a junior sailing school at a yacht club on Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. After retiring from teaching Capt. Steve sailed charters in Newport, RI including as captain of an America's Cup defender, before starting hius own business.
Techniques
In addition to sailing excursions on "Omoo," Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters is certified with the American Sailing Association and offers a full compliment of sailing lessons ranging from never-ever beginners to Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Charter certification classes. If you're looking for a picnic boat, spectator or photography boat, we also offer a Dyer 29 powerboat available for day charters.
