- There is much to enjoy by boat in the Anna Maria Island area including visiting smaller islands and sandbars, sightseeing along shorelines or waterfront homes, encounters with dolphins, manatees, marine birds and other wildlife; or just stop at one of many restaurants in the area to enjoy delicious food. A preferred activity is to anchor at a quiet bay, cove or bayou and fully immerse in the sounds of nature.
