Hector and Orlando were beyond amazing. This was hands down the best excursion we did during our entire trip to Puerto Rico, and honestly one of the best days of my life.

Hector was our captain, and from the very start he went above and beyond for us. When we booked, we mentioned that we had dietary restrictions and could only eat seafood and halal meat. Even before we arrived, Hector was in constant communication with us about food options and reassured us he would make sure we were taken care of. And he absolutely did — he took extra time out of his own day to find halal meat for us, which meant so much and did not go unnoticed.

Two days before our excursion, Hector reached out to let us know that due to weather conditions, our original destination would need to be changed to a different island. We appreciated this so much. He was incredibly transparent, flexible, and kept us updated the entire time, which made us feel really comfortable and taken care of.

Now for the actual day… oh my God. It was an absolute dream! We met Hector and Orlando, who were both so warm, welcoming, and genuinely such a pleasure to spend the day with. The ride was smooth, the island was unreal, and the entire experience felt effortless and perfectly planned.

Orlando shared little historical facts about the nearby islands and places, which was such a fun touch. While we were in the water, he was constantly checking in and bringing us snacks and appetizers. And the food… THE FOOD. Some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Hector is truly a phenomenal chef.

Honestly, the day could not have gone any better. Hector and Orlando, thank you so much for the memories. We will 100% be back to Puerto Rico, and whenever we do, we will ONLY be booking with Hector Barreto. No hesitation, no question.

My family and I chartered the Misty Dawn with Captain Hector. They spoiled us with homemade guacamole, delicious local fruit and sandwiches. The weather and ride was perfect. The water was spectacular and we enjoyed the setup at Palomina Island. We snorkeled and swam and truly enjoyed the natural beauty of Puerto Rico! Thank you so much! Next is Culebra with you guys!

My family and I took the day excursion to Vieques. Hector was an experienced an Captain who was very nice and a fantastic cook! Also, Orlando was fantastic.  He would bring us food/drinks or whatever we needed.  He was super friendly! We would highly recommend this excursion and would do this again!

Captain Hector and Co-Captain Orlando delivered an unforgettable day on the water! From the moment we stepped on board, they were warm, responsive, and incredibly professional. The boat was spotless and comfortable, and every detail was clearly thought through.

Captain Hector is not only a skilled captain but also an amazing chef—his food was absolutely phenomenal and a highlight of the trip! My fiancé had only been on a boat a few times and was understandably nervous, but Hector and Orlando went above and beyond to make him feel safe and at ease. At the same time, they made sure I had the chance to snorkel and soak in the stunning beauty of Puerto Rico.

I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting the island. 10/10—do not hesitate to book with the Misty Dawn!

This was a great trip. Hector and his mate were amazing. From communicating before the trip to after, sending recommendations for restaurants. We wanted to snorkel and he delivered three great locations. After the first snorkeling stop he had the drinks and food ready and that continued all day. The service was special and beyond what we expected. We spent the end of the day (8 hour trip) relaxing on the secluded beach having food and conversation. He joined in, and was a part of our fun. We were on vacation with close friends and he made this trip to Puerto Rico one we will cherish. Thank you Hector!!
