Payment and Pricing Terms
General
These terms regulate our Payment and Pricing, and the rights and
obligations of
all Users who pay or receive money in connection to the services listed on the BoatBooker
platform.
It is hereby acknowledged that BoatBooker pre-negotiates certain rates with Owners
to
facilitate the booking of reservations on Renter’s behalf. Renters hereby authorize BoatBooker
to book
reservations for the total reservation price, which includes the rate displayed on the Website. Upon
submitting a reservation request, Renters authorize BoatBooker to facilitate reservations on their
behalf.
The price of the Owner’s services will be as quoted on the Platform, except in cases of obvious error. Owners may change at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already accepted by Owners. Despite BoatBooker's best efforts, some of the Services listed on the Platform may be incorrectly priced. The trip price will be presented prior to a trip being confirmed by the Owner. When a trip is booked via the Instant Book feature the trip price is visible in the booking confirmation. Errors are rare but can occur in the pricing system and they cannot be honored. BoatBooker or Renter are not under obligation to provide Services to a Renterr at an incorrect (lower) price, even if a booking has been confirmed.
BOATBOOKER EXPLICITLY Y RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CORRECT ANY PRICING ERRORS ON THE WEBSITE AND/OR ON PENDING RESERVATIONS MADE UNDER AN INCORRECT PRICE. IN SUCH AN EVENT, IF AVAILABLE, BOATBOOKER WILL OFFER THE RENTER THE OPPORTUNITY TO KEEP THEIR PENDING RESERVATION AT THE CORRECT PRICE OR THE RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELED WITHOUT PENALTY.
Payment Models, Fees and Deposit
Users are not required to pay BoatBooker any joining or initial subscription fee(s) related to the use of BoatBooker's Services. BoatBooker, however, reserves the right to charge subscription fees at any time and will notify Users of any changes in subscription fee policies.
Owners are able to have the Full Online Payments Model and Deposit Payments Model active at the same time. In that case, Renters will be presented with an option to select the preferred Payment Model prior to completing the booking.
Standard Deposit Payment Model
In the deposit payment model, the booking deposit acts as the commission – set by the Owner i n the amount of 10–30% of the total trip price. The booking deposit is charged by BoatBooker on the Owner’s behalf from the Renter once a trip is booked, while the remaining amount is directly paid to the Owner. Renters may be presented with an option to settle the remaining balance for the trip price via the BoatBooker platform, where processing and service fees may apply.
After a completed trip BoatBooker keeps the booking deposit (10–30%) as a commission that BoatBooker charges an Owner for use of the Services. In the event that a trip is canceled, BoatBooker will return the booking deposit to the Renter or will forward it to the Owner, depending on whether the Owner’ s cancellation policy was breached or not.
Deposit Payments Model
In the Deposit Payment Model, Owners may preselect a booking deposit as a percentage of the total trip price. This percentage determines the initial payment required from the Renter to secure the booking. The booking deposit amount must equal or exceed the preselected commission, as the commission is incorporated into the initial transaction.
After a completed trip, the previously set commission by the Owner
(10–30%)
is kept by BoatBooker for use of the Services and the difference between the total booking deposit
amount
paid by the Renter and the charged commission is transferred to the Owner, reduced by any additional
fees
that may occur.
Renters may be presented with an option to settle the remaining balance for
the trip
price via the BoatBooker platform, where processing and service fees may apply.
Online Payments Model
In the online payment model (where the Renter has the
option to pay the full amount
immediately when booking a trip). The total trip price acts, at the
same time,
as a booking deposit , settled with BoatBooker, on
the
Owner’s behalf before the trip (during
checkout).
After a completed trip, the previously
set
commission by the Owner (10–30%) is
kept by
BoatBooker for use of the Services and the difference between the total trip price and charged
commission is
transferred to the Owner , reduced by any additional
fees
that may occur.
All other expenses that may occur prior, during, or after the trip date, such as tips, security deposits, damages , travel expenses, and accommodation costs are to be settled by the Renter. BoatBooker does not bear any responsibility for settling any costs that haven’t been presented in the total trip price.
Collect/Pay Remaining Balance
In the case of the Standard Payment Model and Deposit Payment Model, Renters may be presented with an option to settle the remaining balance for the trip price via the BoatBooker platform prior to or on the trip date. Processing and Service fees may apply.
Commission
Owners set a commission amount between 10–30% of the total package price (i.e., the booking and any additional expenses). The set commission acts as a booking deposit under the Deposit Payments Model. After a completed trip, BoatBooker keeps the commission for the use of the Service.
Payment Processing Fees
Depending on the available payment method (e.g. automatic refund, PayPal, check) additional fees may occur and the money returned can be slightly different than the monies charged.
Security Deposit
Security Deposit is a refundable amount paid by Renters to cover potential damages or losses to the boat during the rental period. Security Deposit is directly paid to the Owner at the boat pick up and returned to the Renter after the trip is completed.
Payment Processing Fees
Depending on the available payment method (e.g. credit card, PayPal), additional fees may occur. When completing a transaction via the BoatBooker platform, if processing fees apply they will be presented in the price breakdown component .
Service Fees
Service fees may apply. These fees help cover the costs of maintaining the platform, including customer support and booking management. The service fee is a percentage of the total booking cost and is non-refundable, except in cases of cancellation due to extenuating circumstances. The exact amount will be displayed during checkout .
Additional Fees and Currency Conversions
Please note that Payment Methods and Payout Methods may involve the use of third-party payment service providers. These service providers may charge additional fees when processing payments and payouts, and BoatBooker is not responsible for any such fees and disclaims all liability in this regard. Users' Payment Methods or Payout Methods may also be subject to additional terms and conditions imposed by the applicable third-party payment service provider. Users are asked to review these terms and conditions before using a Payment Method or Payout Method.
Please note that third-party payment service providers may impose transaction, currency conversion or other fees based on the currency and on an exchange rate and BoatBooker is not responsible for any such fees and disclaims all liability in this regard. Users should contact their bank or credit card company if they have any questions about these fees or any applicable exchange rate.
Renters are responsible for selecting their preferred currency to view prices.

Renter Specific Terms
All of the Services require a booking deposit at the time of booking for a boating trip to be secured. Any outstanding balance is due to be paid to the Owner prior to using Services rendered by and booked with a selected Owner. With certain Owners who accept the online payment method, Renters can be
requested to pay the full amount in advance – prior to the trip's date. If a Renter
selects this
option, they will be charged the full amount in US dollars by direct bank transfer or by credit,
debit or

BoatBooker’s role
is
restricted solely to acting as a limited payment collection agent for Owners by facilitating payment

In the event that a Renter has overpaid or is overcharged by the Owner, they may be presented with the option to receive a credit amounting to the overcharged amount. The User may be credited at least the difference in price.
The next time a Renter books a trip using their BoatBooker account, the credit will automatically be applied to the booking deposit.
BoatBooker may, at its sole discretion, create a special offer or policy under which credits can be offered to Renters as specified in the terms and conditions provided within the offer or policy. BoatBooker reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend credit policies and offers at any time. This does not apply to Renters with pre-existing unused credits.

good
faith, to select an alternative payout method for the Owner. BoatBooker also reserves the right to

Owner-specific Terms
The Owner's cancellation policy is set when their BoatBooker listing is created. The amount of the booking deposit transferred to the Owner upon a breached cancellation policy depends on the Payment Model used by the Renter at the time of booking:
Standard Payment Model:
- The booking deposit is equal to the Owner's preselected commission.
- If the cancellation policy is breached, the entire booking deposit amount is transferred to the Owner.
Deposit Payment Model:
- The booking deposit equals the booking deposit amount preselected by the Owner.
- If the cancellation policy is breached, BoatBooker will retain an amount equivalent to the preselected commission (cancellation fee) and transfer the remaining balance to the Owner.
Online Payment Model:
- The booking deposit equals the total trip price.
- If the cancellation policy is breached, BoatBooker
will retain
an amount equivalent to the preselected commission (cancellation fee) and transfer the remaining
balance

Owners have the option to make edits and modifications to their cancellation policy and booking deposit within the predefined options. Any later edits or modifications to the Owner’s cancellation policy or booking deposits shall be applicable to all bookings made after the edits or modifications were made.
The Owner’s cancellation policy can be overridden in cases qualifying under our Extenuating Circumstances Policy, as defined here.
Owner's sole responsibility is to notify BoatBooker through BoatBooker’s product immediately if a trip is canceled or shortened.
Owners are strongly discouraged from asking a Renter to provide them with a credit card or any other form of financial information so the Renter can give them an additional guarantee for the trip or for any other reason , that’s not addressed here..
In the event that a Renter provides an Owner with credit card information, BoatBooker is not liable nor responsible for any amount charged, nor is responsible for any disputes that may arise for the transactions that weren’t processed through BoatBooker’s payment processor.
By “prior to the trip”, we mean any date before the booked trip date specified in the trip booking confirmation.
