Cruise Panama’s Pacific coast aboard Makaira, a classic 40-foot Hatteras sport fisherman, fully remodeled, restored and updated in 2026, with new MAN diesel engines, updated electronics, a new generator, and air conditioning. Departing from Vista Mar Marina in San Carlos, about an hour from Panama City, this private charter welcomes up to 10 guests for a comfortable and memorable experience on the water.
Choose the trip that best suits your plans. Head to Isla Farallón on a 6-hour excursion, explore Bona and Otoque islands on an 8-hour cruise, or join a 4-hour humpback whale-watching trip during the season in August and September. For a longer getaway, embark on a 2-day adventure to the Pearl Islands, with an overnight stay at Hotel Hacienda del Mar on Isla San José.
Makaira offers several spaces to relax throughout your trip, including a shaded flybridge, a spacious cockpit, and an air-conditioned salon equipped with a galley, refrigerator, and TV. Below deck, you’ll find two cabins and a private bathroom. Make the most of Panama’s Pacific waters with swimming and snorkeling stops along the way. Two snorkel sets are available on board, so you can enjoy time in the water during your excursion.
Ice and water are included in your trip. Feel free to bring your own cooler, and the crew will serve your drinks. Alternatively, add a national beer and soda package for US$10 per person.

How cancellations work
You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
How you can pay
When the captain confirms your trip, BoatBooker charges your credit card a 10% booking deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
