Explore the real Lowcountry with Out Yonder Excursions, where every trip is a memorable escape into the peaceful tidal creeks, salt marshes, and estuary around Johns Island/West Ashley. Leave the crowded harbor and busy beaches behind and experience the beauty of the Stono River, Wallace Creek, Rantowles Creek, and the remote marshes near Bulow Landing.

Search for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, wading birds, ospreys, bald eagles, and other wildlife in their natural habitat while enjoying breathtaking sunsets and scenic waterways. Your local captain, Chris Rapchick, shares fascinating stories about the area's ecology, wildlife, and rich history, making every cruise both relaxing and memorable.

Your adventure takes place aboard a comfortable 2016 Carolina Skiff 258 DLV powered by a dependable 200 HP Yamaha outboard. The boat comfortably accommodates up to six guests and features an ice chest, sound system, Simrad chart plotter and sonar, VHF radio, depth finder, and all required U.S. Coast Guard safety equipment.

This boat cruise is perfect for families, couples, wildlife photographers, birdwatchers, and new Lowcountry residents wanting to learn and explore the area.  We venture out into the remote, quiet areas, away from the busy Charleston Harbor and crowded beaches.  You won’t be crammed on a boat with dozens of strangers since our boat is limited to up to 6 passengers.

Come experience Charleston from a different perspective - quiet, authentic, and unforgettable. Book your adventure with Out Yonder Excursions today!

Exploring the Lowcountry marshes
2hr Private Golden Hour Boat Cruise on July 27, 2026
If you're looking for an authentic Lowcountry experience, I can't recommend Out Yonder Excursions enough. Our cruise along the Stono River was the perfect combination of relaxation, wildlife and local history. Captain Chris was outstanding! His passion for the Lowcountry really shines through and he shared fascinating insights about the marshes, the river and the delicate ecosystem that makes this area so special. It felt less like a tour and more like spending time on the water with someone who genuinely loves what they do. One of the highlights was seeing so many dolphins and other native wildlife in their natural habitat. The scenery was beautiful and the entire trip gave us a new appreciation for Charleston's coastal environment. Whether you're visiting the area or have lived here for years, Out Yonder Excursions is an experience that's well worth your time. We'll definitely be back for another adventure!
