Schooner Liberté is a beautifully maintained 2002 sailing vessel (Deadly Dix 77) based in Falmouth, offering an unforgettable on-the-water experience for up to 49 guests. Powered by a 130 HP diesel inboard engine with a cruising speed of up to 8 knots, she delivers a smooth and comfortable sail along the Cape Cod coastline, perfect for relaxing, celebrating, or exploring.
The Boat: This 77’ schooner was custom-built for passenger sailing excursions around Cape Cod. Commissioned in 2001 and inspected annually by the U.S. Coast Guard, she is certified for commercial guest service. Her design is based on the Hout Bay 70 by Dudley Dix, extensively reconfigured for comfort and safety in a charter setting. Instead of the original two-mast layout, Liberté features a three-masted staysail rig, providing easier sail handling, improved balance, and a more enjoyable ride under varying conditions. Spacious decks and a full onboard bar create a relaxed and social atmosphere at sea.
Onboard, guests can enjoy open deck areas designed for comfort and panoramic views, supported by a premium audio system with exterior speakers. A refrigerator is also available to keep refreshments chilled throughout the voyage.
The Experience: Departing from Falmouth Harbor, routes vary depending on wind and tide, often heading toward Nobska Lighthouse, Martha’s Vineyard, or Falmouth Heights. Each sail offers a different perspective of Cape Cod’s coastline. A full bar is available onboard (no BYOB), while private charters may bring light snacks or catering options. Children are welcome.
Whether you're celebrating, sightseeing, or simply unwinding, Schooner Liberté offers a truly memorable sailing experience along Cape Cod.
