Outstanding Trip!
Capt Cross’ lifetime of experience on the Texas bays, skills and knowledge made me and my wife’s trip one of the most memorable we’ve ever had on the water!
- 5.0/5(2hr soundside adventure morning)
exactly what we were looking for!
clean boat, knowledgeable captain, wonderful tour!! James is a third generation waterman, and for a young man, he was extremely engaging!

Day Trip Masonboro Island
Chartered a boat for a day trip to Masonboro Island to collect seashells. Jake is an excellent host. He is friendly, very knowledgeable, knows the great locations and took us to several areas on the island, including some that can be difficult to navigate. An overall excellent experience. Fair rates and great service. HIGHLY recommend
- 5.0/5(Resturant/Bar Hopping)
Great boat day!
We had a great time with Captain Brandon spending the afternoon bar hopping and cruising around the bay. He made everything easy and enjoyable! Thank you so much!!
À propos de Canot
A Skiff is a small, light fishing boat built for skinny water. It runs quiet and shallow, so you can reach spots others miss. Book a Skiff trip if you want simple gear, fast setup, and hands-on fishing.
Most Skiffs measure 15–19 feet. Many have a flat or slight V hull, which keeps the draft shallow. You get an open deck, wide beam for steady footing, and a raised poling platform for a silent approach. An outboard engine delivers efficient power, and dry storage keeps tackle safe.
Guides use Skiffs to stalk flats, backwaters, marsh edges, and calm bays. They shine for sight casting and fly fishing, when a quiet drift matters. Short runs between spots are easy, and the boat jumps on plane fast when the throttle goes down.
A Skiff suits solo anglers, pairs, and small crews who pack light. First-timers like the stable feel and clear deck. Experienced guests love the precise control at the helm and along the gunwale. Wear sun protection and soft-soled shoes. Bring only what you need so the deck stays uncluttered. Life jackets, or PFDs, are usually on board, but ask your captain if you have questions.
Before you go, check local rules for licenses, catch limits, and seasons. Confirm any permits a guide may hold or you may need. Know basic safety, and follow the captain’s briefing on life jackets and where to stand. Share a simple float plan, which lists who is on board and the route. Always respect no-wake zones, posted signs, and USCG guidance.
