- Background
- I was born and raised on Amelia Island, where I grew up fishing and shrimping alongside my dad, great uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Since 1992, I’ve had the privilege of ferrying guests to the Greyfield Inn and landowners of Cumberland Island, as well as guiding families and small groups on fishing charters for over 30 years. Sharing the beauty, history, and charm of our area with new locals and visitors is something I truly enjoy. Whether it’s a day of fishing, exploring the waterways, or learning about the rich history of Amelia Island and its surroundings, I’m passionate about creating memorable experiences for everyone who comes aboard.
- Techniques
- One of my favorite trips is "Amelia Island from the Water!" This unforgettable adventure begins on the scenic Amelia River, where we cruise past historic shrimp boats and the iconic Fort Clinch. From there, we head over to Cumberland Island to explore its stunning waterways, keeping an eye out for playful dolphins and graceful sea turtles along the way. As we make our way back, we’ll pass by the fascinating Submarine Base before circling back for a glimpse of Cumberland Island’s famous wild horses. It’s a perfect mix of history, wildlife, and breathtaking scenery—an experience that truly captures the magic of the area!
