The hallmark feature is a walk-through windshield that opens to the bow, which is the front of the boat. You get wraparound seating up front and a roomy cockpit at the stern, which is the rear. Most models run from the high teens to the low 30s in feet. Many add shade tops, a small enclosed head, deep storage, and handy fishing gear like rod holders and a livewell.

Dual consoles shine on mixed-use trips. Cruise to a sandbar, then cast off to fish a reef or a lake edge. They handle watersports like tubing or snorkeling runs with ease. The tall windshield and higher gunwales help keep rides drier and more secure when the chop picks up.

This boat type is great for first-timers and families because movement is simple and seats are secure. Anglers enjoy the fishing features without giving up comfort. If fishing is your main goal, note you will not have the full 360-degree access of a center console. Bring soft-soled shoes, sun protection, a light jacket, and a dry bag.
