Vigilant Yacht Charters
Step aboard Vigilant, a beautifully hand-crafted Bluewater 41 sailing yacht based in Russell, and discover New Zealand’s spectacular Bay of Islands in relaxed, personal style. Built locally by Keith Bradley between 1984 and 1989, this classic 42-foot cutter-rigged yacht features Burmese teak decks, an elegant wine transom and a warm swamp kauri interior. With nearly 20 years of service as a nautical school, Vigilant is also a cherished part of the region’s maritime heritage.
Your skipper, Nathalie “Nat” Leblanc, is a qualified New Zealand Coastguard skipper who has spent more than a decade exploring the Pacific under sail. Her calm, friendly approach helps every guest feel welcome and involved—whether you would like to take the helm, learn about sailing or simply unwind and enjoy the scenery.
Vigilant welcomes up to ten guests for island-hopping, sailing, snorkeling and diving adventures. Onboard amenities include an aft sundeck, kitchen, grill, ice box, refrigerator, head and toilet. Optional extras include lunch, kayak use and snorkeling equipment, while sonar and essential safety equipment are provided.
Children, swimming and alcohol, including red wine, are permitted onboard, and smoking and liveaboard stays are also possible. With a focus on small groups, sustainable tourism and authentic experiences, Vigilant offers a memorable way to explore Russell and the Bay of Islands.
