This isn’t just a fishing trip—it’s a chance to be part of a legend. Hop aboard the Cricket II, the very same boat that inspired author Peter Benchley to write the book on which the movie Jaws is based.
This 45’ boat, built in 1947, hails from a different era. Fully restored and outfitted a few years ago, it now provides free fishing trips for disabled veterans. Certain modifications were made to make the boat wheelchair accessible. Powered by a 250 HP Detroit engine, it also features a private toilet, navigational electronics, a fighting chair, trolling gear, tuna tubes, and top-notch fishing equipment.
To honor its legendary status, this boat will take you shark hunting. You can target Blacktip and Tiger sharks that gather around wrecks. The crew provides shark tags, so you can also contribute to species preservation. But there’s more! Captain Joe and Captain Chaz, with over 50 years of combined experience, can put you on Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, and more, depending on your technique and the fishing grounds you visit.
All fishing equipment, licenses, and catch cleaning are included in the price. All you need to bring are your food, drinks, and sun protection. The cost of your trip helps support free trips for veterans.
Enjoy a safe and comfortable adventure aboard the Cricket II! You don’t need a bigger boat.
