We started out with a downer — some inexperienced folks in a pontoon boat crashed into our boat, and we had to wait more than an hour for the DNR cops to come take a report. Capt. Parker offered to take us out another day, and promised we would get our full fishing time. We stuck it out and were glad we did. Capt. Parker caught some bait and we hit our first spot. We had immediate success with redfish. When the fishing slowed, we hit another spot, and pulled in fish for another two hours — redfish mostly, but black drum, flounder, croakers, and even a skate. We finished up by trying a new spot where the “big boys” were. Alas, no luck there. Great trip. Parker and Zach were a lot of fun, and taught us some great techniques. This is NOT drop your bait over the side and wait fishing, although I’m sure they would be happy to hook the fish and hand you the pole. It was as challenging and rewarding as you wanted to make it. Highly recommended!.
