Holy mackerel (and a bull shark)
Half Day Trip (AM) on January 18, 2025
We had a great day on the water with Capt/ John. John is a lifelong resident and comes from a fishing family here and he clearly knows his stuff. From the start, we were hooking mackerel right and left. We caught over 30 fish with about twenty keeper sized mackerel. After collecting our fill of mackerel and smaller fish, we dropped a line for shark and before long, we hooked a 200 lb bull shark. John was a terrific guide and helped both my boys reel it in. John fileted some of the fish for us and sent us to a nearby spot where they cooked our catch. It was delicious. We really couldn’t have asked for more.

Took our 28-year old daughter and her boyfriend on the four-hour morning excursion. The waters were pretty rough, but Captain John found where the fish were biting. I don’t believe there was a span of five minutes that at least one of us didn’t have a fish hooked. John was extremely personable as well as knowledgeable. When coming back ashore, he entertained us with his filleting skills while feeding the pelicans. I can’t wait to bring our catch tonight to Lazy Days for a home-cooked dinner of fresh Snapper.

Great Family Time

Morning Tarpon Fishing on May 18, 2024
Met captain on FishingBooker. Communication was concise and clear, I asked to be put on Tarpon, John delivered! Very personable, extremely informative on species and habitat, and a habitat conservationist. If I could give him 10 stars if i could. Lined 6 and caught 3, epic memories of one of the best days in my life! John is a professional guide, he will put you on your target, his boat was clean and his tackle in good order, The whole trip was the best charter and the best saltwater experience I’ve ever had. If you want a really good day fishing, this IS your guide. I most certainly will be back next year and John will definitely be who I go with.

Captain John got us on the fish quickly and kept us on all day. In the morning we had 3 stops for targets: Yellow Jack, Barracuda and Bone. Got em all plus some other fish (snapper, Blue Runner). No down time, lots of action. In the afternoon we went for Tarpon and hooked up a bunch. The sharks went after the Tarpon which was exciting to see. John explains everything clearly and gives great direction; but he also lets you do the fishing. Very nice, pleasant guy. Pretty quiet (which I like)...tells you what you need to know and lets you get at it rather than just talking all day. Fun to spend the day with him. I look forward to fishing with John again.

Best day of fishing!

Capt. Kept our lines tight the whole trip. Targeted multiple species and landed even the one we didn't target. He had a plan for every variable that was thrown at him (weather, no bait, dying bait, etc.) and it was never a dull moment. Could have kept going with the captain all day. The half day went by so quickly and we appreciate his attention to detail and planning to make our trip absolutely worth it. Great Capt.
